Bandung, 13 June 2025 — The International Relations Study Program of Parahyangan Catholic University (HI UNPAR) once again held the 2025 Public Diplomacy Fair (PDF) with the theme “Public Diplomacy: The Global South from a Cultural Perspective.” Held at the Inner Hallway of the PPAG Building, 1st Floor, this annual event serves as a platform to showcase cultural diplomacy practices from various developing countries across the Global South.
PDF 2025 is part of a project-based learning model for 148 students enrolled in the Public Diplomacy course. In this event, students conducted research and presented public diplomacy strategies implemented by different countries through cultural mediums such as cuisine, music, dance, traditional clothing, and architectural icons.
This year’s event was made even more special by the presence of diplomatic representatives from several of HI UNPAR’s strategic partner countries. One of the distinguished guests was the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of India in Indonesia, who expressed appreciation for the students’ initiative in strengthening cross-cultural understanding and global solidarity through public diplomacy.
PDF 2025 was also held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference (KAA), a historic milestone marking the solidarity of developing nations. In their remarks, UNPAR leaders highlighted the importance of young people understanding history, building global networks, and taking active roles in international relations grounded in cultural values.
The event served not only as a showcase of student work but also as a space for meaningful interaction among students, alumni, faculty members, embassy representatives, and partner high school students. In addition to group presentations, the event concluded with cultural performances and the announcement of the best groups selected by the judging panel.
The Public Diplomacy Fair 2025 reaffirms HI UNPAR’s commitment to nurturing a generation that is diplomacy-literate, creative, and ready to contribute to building Indonesia’s positive image while strengthening international relations through the power of culture.
