UNPAR IR Faculty Participates in the Indonesia–Taiwan Workshop on Political and Economic Cooperation

On 17–18 April 2025, the International Relations Study Program of UNPAR took part in the Indonesia–Taiwan Workshop on Political and Economic Cooperation, organized by the Department of Political Science, Tunghai University, Taiwan.

Yulis Purwadi Hermawan, Head of PACIS IR UNPAR, presented Reconfiguring Multilateralism 2.0: The G20’s Failure, the Global South’s Gloomy Prospectus, Indonesia’s Fading Role?, which critically examines the dynamics of global multilateralism and Indonesia’s role within it.

Elisabeth A.S. Dewi delivered a presentation titled The Global Compact for Migration, What Could It Mean for Indonesian and Taiwanese Women and Their Gender Relations? Meanwhile, Sylvia Yazid discussed Whose Ideas Matter? The Changing Meaning of Health Protocols in Indonesia’s Border Management Policies in the Pandemic Era.

Additional contributions came from Ratih Indraswari, who reviewed the Trilateral Model of the ROK Engagement with ASEAN, and Kristian Widya Wicaksono, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UNPAR, who presented Revisiting the New Public Administration (NPA) Paradigm in Jokowi’s Administration: A Systematic Literature Review.

This participation reflects UNPAR IR’s commitment to fostering academic collaboration and expanding its intellectual contributions to political and economic issues in the region. The workshop also served as a platform to explore various potential partnerships between UNPAR IR and Tunghai University, including possibilities for joint degree programs, faculty and student exchanges, and research collaboration.

On this occasion, UNPAR IR also extended an invitation to Tunghai University to participate in the 5th Biennial International Conference on International Relations (ICON-IR), which will be held on 20–21 August 2026 at Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung.
