PROFILE

Stanislaus Risadi Apresian is a lecturer in the International Relations undergraduate program at UNPAR, joining in 2014. Apresian focuses on teaching courses related to environmental politics, climate change, and international political economy. He obtained his Doctoral degree from the School of Politics and International Studies, University of Leeds, UK in 2024, with the research title “The Political Economy of Climate Change Adaptation: Indonesia in the Post-Paris Agreement”. His doctoral studies were fully funded by the Indonesia Lecturer Excellence Scholarship (BUDI) from the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP). He earned his Master of Arts (2013) and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (2010) from the International Relations Department at Universitas Gadjah Mada. He has received several international research grants, including the International Partnership and Mobility Awards 2016 (British Academy), in collaboration with researchers from the University of Leeds, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and Universitas Indonesia. Apresian’s current research focuses on climate change politics and environmental politics. One of his influential publications is the journal article titled “The Contestation of National Adaptation Policies in Indonesia”. This article was published in the Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs, indexed in Scopus, and ranked in the Q1 category for Political Science and International Relations in November 2024. Apresian is also active in writing opinion pieces for national media outlets such as The Jakarta Post, Kompas, and The Conversation Indonesia, focusing on global politics and policies related to the environment and climate change.
