PROFILE

Elisabeth Adyiningtyas Satya Dewi is better known as Elisabeth “Nophie” Dewi in various circles, both academic and non-academic. “Nophie” began her career as an adjunct lecturer in the International Relations Study Program at Unpar in 2010, right after completing her doctoral program in Melbourne. Since January 1, 2011, “Nophie” has been listed as a permanent lecturer in the International Relations Study Program and teaches various courses in line with her interests, educational background, and experience.

“Nophie” completed her undergraduate studies in 1996 with the support of Dharmasiswa Unpar, then worked at a private bank while continuing to organize in various communities in the city of Bandung. After a year working at the International Labor Organization (ILO) on a project to eliminate child labor, “Nophie” received a scholarship to study for a master’s degree in Regional Economic and Social Development while working as a research assistant at various study centers at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA.

As part of her master’s studies, “Nophie” wrote a thesis entitled “Community Values, Education and Work: Child Labor in Indonesia – The Case of the Household Footwear Sector in Cibaduyut and Cangkuang Kulon Bandung.” After returning from the United States, “Nophie” worked for one year at the UNPAR Foundation to oversee the Dana Lestari Scholarship Program for UNPAR students, while continuing to work for the Bandung Women’s Network community, which promotes gender equality in various circles in the city of Bandung.
