PROFILE
Kishino Bawono, better known as Kishino or Nino, joined the teaching staff at the International Relations Study Program, Parahyangan Catholic University at the end of 2020.
He completed his undergraduate program at Gadjah Mada University in 2015 with research on the Middle East, specifically on Israel and Palestine, and more specifically on Zionism and political campaigns in Israel. Kishino continued his master’s studies at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies), University of London. During his studies, he took the “Politics of the Middle East” program. He completed his Master of Science degree in 2019 with research on Settler Colonialism and its impact on the political participation of Palestinians in Israel.
Middle Eastern studies, specifically on Israel and Palestine, are the main focus of his research interests. In addition, Kishino is also interested in topics in the fields of pop culture, video games, and their relationship to international relations, human rights, and democracy.
