PROFILE
Sylvia Yazid has been a permanent lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Parahyangan Catholic University since 2004. Sylvia’s areas of study include migration, human rights cities, sustainable development, policy studies, civil society activism, and democratization.
Based on her interest in these fields, Sylvia has been involved in joint research with various research agencies and international organizations. One of these was with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in research on the implementation of the human rights city concept. Then, together with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) in research on migration management in the ASEAN region. Then, research on elections in Indonesia with the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung.
Currently, Sylvia has served as Secretary of Parahyangan Catholic University since 2023. Previously, Sylvia also served as Head of the International and Cooperation Office at Parahyangan Catholic University from 2019 to 2022. Then, Sylvia also served as Head of the International Relations Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Parahyangan Catholic University from 2015 to 2019.
