PROFILE
Yuliana Maria Mediatrix is a lecturer in the International Relations undergraduate program at Parahyangan Catholic University, joining in 2023. Yuliana has an interest in environmental politics, sustainable development, and political theory. She completed her bachelor’s degree in International Relations in 2018 and her master’s degree in Social Sciences in 2020 at Parahyangan Catholic University.
Yuliana’s current research focuses on the relationship between climate change and community-based initiatives, particularly in promoting sustainable development practices in urban and rural communities.
As a classroom teacher and environmental educator, Yuliana applies interactive teaching methods and explains complex theories in an applicable manner. Yuliana also has experience in project management that supports community empowerment efforts to actively participate in sustainable development.
Yuliana’s publication, titled “Policy Innovation to Support City Food Security,” is based on a thesis that investigates the excesses of non-circular urban food systems and their impact on society.
Yuliana’s research with her team, entitled “The Effectiveness of the Bandung City Food System,” was published in a publication titled Bandung Kota Cerdas Pangan – Membangun Sistem Ketahanan Pangan Kota yang Berkelanjutan (Bandung: A Smart City for Food – Building a Sustainable Urban Food Security System).
Yuliana’s community service includes establishing circular farming communities in Bandung and Kuningan; empowering circularity in cattle farming in Sukajaya Village, Lembang, West Bandung Regency; and developing a healthy agricultural consumer-producer ecosystem in Greater Bandung.
