PROFILE
Dr. Yulius Purwadi Hermawan has been a lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Parahyangan Catholic University since April 1993. He earned his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, his master’s degree in Politics with a concentration in East Asian Studies from Monash University, Australia, and his PhD from the University of Leeds, England.
Since 2001, he has had a special interest in the work of international organizations in promoting global governance. His main research interests are Indonesia and the G-20 process, global governance, and ASEAN integration. He is the coordinator of the G20 research project and co-author of Indonesia’s Role in the G-20: Background, Role, and Objectives of Indonesia’s Membership (Jakarta: FES, 2011). He recently completed research on “Indonesia’s Accountability Assessment of G20 Commitments” (May–August 2013) and “G20, Global Governance, and Future Agenda Priorities” (September–December 2013) in collaboration with the G20 Desk, Fiscal Policy Agency, Ministry of Finance, Republic of Indonesia. He is currently conducting research on Indonesia as an emerging aid donor, which is related to his research interests on the G20 process.
